The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) wants public feedback to support a review of the policy on human rights and creed or religion. Public feedback is requested via the OHRC’s Human Rights and Creed Survey. Since the 1996 policy on creed was launched, there have been significant social and legal developments. The OHRC is seeking to clarify its interpretation of human rights and creed, and improve understanding and practice in the area.
This consultation process began in 2011 and has included a case law review, environmental scan, literature review and analysis of current applications at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. This year, the OHRC will focus on public consultation, including this survey.
