A Toronto theatre company is hosting a ‘relaxed performance’ of a world-renowned musical tailored for individuals who may not be able to attend a typical theatre performance.
Mirvish Productions’ relaxed performance of Come From Away welcomes patrons of all ages who live with autism, sensory or communications disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or learning disabilities, or anyone who may benefit from a ‘relaxed’ atmosphere. Patrons are free to move around, light and noise intensities may be decreased, house lights will be partially lit and a quiet space will be available for anyone who wants a break from the show.
The relaxed performance is set for Sunday, May 26 at 2 p.m. at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto.
Come From Away is an award-winning musical based on the true story of 7,000 travellers who were housed and fed by residents of Gander, N.L. after 38 planes were grounded there following the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
