CMHA Ontario is hosting a series of mental health and addictions related training opportunities on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 as part of the first-ever CMHA Ontario Division conference. Sessions include training in Trauma Informed Care, Mental Health Works, Mood Walks, and Motivational Interviewing. The 2015 conference, “Journey Together: A Person Centered Approach to Empower Change in the Community Mental Health and Addictions Sector,” will begin on April 26, 2015 in Toronto and explore the on-the-ground work happening around the province through our branches. The event offers the unique opportunity for CMHA staff from across Ontario to learn from one another.
The conference will feature four streams of programming, including front line streams on housing, community reintegration and living with health and respect across the lifespan.
Governance and senior management streams will also be offered.
A number of inspiring keynotes will speak at the event, including award-winning artist Steven Page and former NHL goaltender Clint Malarchuk, who will share their personal experiences around mental health and well-being.
Though the main conference program is limited to CMHA staff and volunteers, training sessions are open to external organizations wishing to participate. For more information on all of the training sessions, download the conference flyer. It can be found online.
