Technologies such as the internet, mobile applications, and video-conferencing are great tools that can help to deliver mental health services to children and youth. To develop strategies and policies that can improve the use of these technologies, researchers recently looked at the impact of these technologies – and their advantages and disadvantages. They conducted consultations with policy and decision-makers; searched research evidence; and did a scan of current use of technology, barriers, and challenges.
The reviews and consultations brought to light the need to link the use of technology to deliver mental health services for children and youth with policy planning.
