Temporary Contract Position (18-Months)
CMHA, Ontario, is a provincial association, committed to improving services and support for individuals with mental illnesses and to the promotion of mental health in Ontario.
We are seeking an experienced individual to join our Policy Department to support the work of the Provincial Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee (HSJCC). This position is located in Toronto, Ontario. Reporting to the Director, Public Policy at CMHA Ontario, this position will work closely with the HSJCC Co-Chairs and Steering Committee to provide overall administrative support and coordination to the Provincial HSJCC. The HSJCC Coordinator will act as the first point of contact for the Provincial HSJCC and will be responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders as well as managing inquiries from the public.
Responsibilities will include: coordinating meetings, events and minute-taking, managing calendars and appointments, managing confidential materials, assisting with correspondence, reports, presentations, managing databases, and administrative coordination for all projects of the Provincial HSJCC. In addition, this position will coordinate work-plans for all 42 Local and Regional HSJCCs, as well as coordinating annual reports to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Local Health Integration Networks.
We are seeking an experienced individual with a Graduate degree in public policy, social work, health promotion or a related field. A minimum of 3 years experience in administrative support and coordination required. Familiarity with key concepts of mental health promotion, health equity and social determinants of health an asset. Working knowledge of the mental health and addictions sector and the criminal justice sector an asset. Experience working in multi-sectoral partnerships and liaising with non-governmental organizations and government agencies required. Work experience in the community sector is an asset.
A variety of skills in administrative support and coordination is required for this role, including: well developed administrative and organizational skills to meet priorities and deadlines; an eye for accuracy and attention to detail; demonstrated knowledge and work experience with standard office and filing procedures; experience applying judgment, initiative and discretion when dealing with confidential, legal and/or sensitive information; ability to research, obtain and compile information and explore alternatives in order to prepare written material; ability to multitask and prioritize a variety of tasks; proven computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases and e-mail software as well as various office equipment; ability to transcribe a variety of documents; and proficiency in entering and retrieving data to maintain statistical reports; experience with wordpress an asset.

Salary range: $52,986 to $59,570
